Swiss Minister of Economy Johann Schneider-Ammanna said that in the next 5-10 years the country should become a “crypto-nation”, using the positive experience of Zug, which in a short time managed to become a “crypto-valley”
Thanks to the friendly jurisdiction and legal climate, more and more startups and companies related to blockchain and cryptocurrencies are emerging in the region. The city of Zug, the capital of the government-backed association "Crypto Valley", even allows its citizens to pay for municipal services using Bitcoin.
"The canton of Zug - Crypto Valley - has come a long way. We can gain experience there. If the experience in Zug is positive, we can spread it throughout the country. Therefore, I say: we do not need to stay with Crypto Valley, we must become a crypto nation."
According to the official, Switzerland is positioned to take a leadership position in the "fourth industrial revolution" that the crypto industry has already begun:
"We gain our experience and, of course, make cross-comparisons with neighbors and distant competitors. Above all, we are not naive: we do what we find sustainable and promising with all the energy and joy - and we will do without anything that seems critical, which could mean too much risk."
