The mayor of an American city will distribute $1,000 in BTC to residents

The mayor of Cool Valley, Missouri, wants to give every resident of his city $1,000 in BTC, but under one condition.

Mayor Jason Stewart plans to give all 1,500 city residents $1,000 in Bitcoin, but only on the condition that they do not sell it, but hold it for at least five years. Stewart said:

Bitcoins will not be touched for a certain time. People will not be able to do anything with them for five years. Imagine how sorry they would be if they now spent this Bitcoin on gasoline, and in five years their assets would be worth $500,000.
