Alexey Kucher, head of the State Regulatory Service (SRS), included in the declaration data on digital assets worth more than 13 million hryvnia.
Before leaving the post of governor of the Kharkov Regional State Administration, Kucher declared 77 BTC worth 13,100,000 hryvnia, but at the request of the tax authorities he could not indicate the public address where these bitcoins were stored.
The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NACP) has launched an internal investigation into the provision of false information to the tax authorities. The official faces disciplinary action and a fine of 68,000-85,000 hryvnia.
In total, last year Ukrainian officials declared more than 46,000 military-technical cooperation. NACP has undertaken to verify all declarations and the legality of depositing crypto assets.
Ukrainian representatives of the blockchain industry proposed to introduce a law obliging to indicate the addresses of crypto wallets in the declaration.
