Walmart shoppers can now purchase Bitcoin from ATMs located in 200 popular American supermarkets.
Walmart has begun installing Bitcoin ATMs in its stores. The test project was launched jointly with Coinstar, a manufacturer of ATMs for the purchase of cryptocurrencies.
The device issues the buyer a voucher for the purchase of Bitcoin for cash bills. The voucher can be exchanged for BTC on the Coinme website after registering with identification. The terminal removes 7% commission for exchanging cash for a voucher and 4% for service.
Although this is a rather expensive way to buy cryptocurrency, it reduces the barrier to entry for beginners.
