“There’s been a lot of talk about blockchains.” This is Poroshenko’s indirect response to Yulia Tymoshenko’s July speech. At the presentation of her “new course,” the ambitious politician announced the need to transfer the entire public administration system to blockchain.
The election campaign in Ukraine has not yet officially begun, but politicians are already looking for non-standard approaches to the progressive part of voters. The mention of modern trends and technical terms is increasingly heard in the speeches of servants of the people. So in the speech of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko at the fifteenth Annual meeting of the Yalta European Strategy (YES), everything was mixed: codes, smarts, clouds.
Listing the achievements of the Ukrainian government, immediately after the emphasis on a visa-free regime, the removal of currency restrictions, the establishment of free movement of goods, services and capital, the president noted that Ukraine has risen in the global innovation rankings.
Petr Alekseevich said: “There was a lot of talk about blockchains. The process of transferring the National Land Cadastre and the Register of Property Rights to the blockchain has finally begun. The National Bank is preparing to launch national electronic money, and the medical reform provides for the launch of telemedicine in rural areas.”
In his speech, the president did not ignore the Prozorro electronic government procurement system, which has become a symbol of anti-corruption; it is built “on cloud technologies, on open source, on SCRUM technologies.” Listing innovative achievements, the head of state focused on a single web portal for using public funds “with tens of millions of documents in open data format. There are no more barriers for those who want to take part in this process. Electronic government services are finally becoming a symbol of our life,” Poroshenko is sure.
Apparently the next presidential election campaign will be held not only using blockchain voting technology, but also to attract the electorate, which is not interested in buckwheat rations and increase pensions.
