Kickstarter is creating a new company to develop a decentralized service.

Bloomberg reports that today the company will release an announcement of a new project that will develop a platform similar to Kickstarter on the blockchain. Once ready, Kickstarter will migrate its site to the new system and release a set of custom tools that allow for crowdfunding.

The new company does not yet have a name. Development is expected to begin next year, and the transition to the new protocol will take place by the end of 2022.
