ORBCOMM Inc. will engage in logistics on Blockchain

ORBCOMM Inc., an international provider of mobile-to-mobile communications and Internet of Things (IoT) software, recently announced its participation in the Blockchain in Transport Alliance (BiTA), a forum of blockchain standards and solutions developers for transportation companies founded in August 2017.

Leveraging its many years of experience in developing IoT solutions for transport and logistics companies, ORBCOMM is the first telematics provider to be selected as a member of BiTA. The company is well positioned to play a key role in the transition of other enterprises to distributed ledger technology, which will help them in facilitating logistics management, asset tracking, transaction processing, etc.

ORBCOMM will collaborate with BiTA member companies that come from different sectors - transport service providers, original equipment manufacturers, contractors, insurance companies. Together they will try to figure out how to most effectively implement blockchain technology in the supply chain.

ORBCOMM offers a wide range of solutions for asset monitoring and management, such as wireless satellite and cellular connections, unique hardware equipment, and powerful applications. The company has a wide customer base ranging from equipment manufacturers to governments.
