IOTA and Audi enter into a partnership agreement

The IOTA Foundation takes a very thorough approach to researching transportation solutions on the blockchain. Therefore, such a headline is unlikely to come as a surprise to anyone.

Audi is a German automobile company that has designed and manufactured a wide range of vehicles, from family cars to luxury sports cars. Audi is a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group and thus has an international reach to consumers.

A representative of the IOTA Foundation said: "We cannot imagine modern life without transport, although the very concept of “transport” has long gone beyond cars, implying infrastructure solutions and new mobility concepts. What will the best transport of the future look like? Who will create it, and who will develop it?"

IOTA believes that Audi will be the creator of the transport of the future. The partnership was announced yesterday in Berlin.

According to IOTA's official announcement:

In an effort to create a frictionless transportation ecosystem, the IOTA Foundation, together with Audi, will host the Google Design Sprint in Berlin, which will explore Tangle-based solutions, create an initial prototype, and gather customer feedback. The goal of this meeting will be to create a new kind of business model. The new type of work is an exemplary example of how car manufacturers can innovate their sphere”.

Blockchain technology and transport are two concepts that go hand in hand. Blockchain has potential applications in all areas of the automotive industry, but IOTA appears to want to focus specifically on transportation. This is not the first time IOTA has collaborated with large corporations, and most likely, it will not be the last.

IOTA is a trend that is spreading throughout Europe, where the largest car manufacturers are located.
