Bitcoin millionaire Nicholas Nicolaisen has become a sponsor of the Rungsted Seier Capital hockey club and is entering into new agreements with players.
The Danish hockey club Rungsted Seier Capital, founded in 1941, has changed its sponsor. The team playing in the Danish Major Hockey League is now funded by Nicholas Nicolaisen, who made his capital from Bitcoin.
The initiative of the new investor was to change several points at once. Firstly, the players of the hockey team will now receive their entire salary in cue balls. Secondly, their home ice arena, where the team not only trains, but also plays home matches, should now have a new name - Bitcoin Arena instead of the old Skojtehallen.
The first player who agreed to receive a salary in bitcoins was forward Nikolai Rosenthal.
It is noteworthy that the hockey players’ contracts contain a clause that insures their salaries in the event of sudden fluctuations in cryptocurrency.
The agreement is for three years and will come into force on December 27.
Rungsted also signed a contract with the Swiss company Bitcoin Suisse, which will help the club with cryptocurrency processing.
Thus, the Rungsted Sayer Capital sports club has become the first club in the history of world hockey that is completely focused on the Bitcoin cryptocurrency.
