Ukrainian customs officers detained a large batch of mining equipment worth 13 million hryvnia

On the territory of the Boryspil-Airport checkpoint, employees of the Department for Customs Offenses detained a large batch of specialized mining equipment, which has a total value of more than 13 million hryvnia.

The equipment was purchased in Hong Kong, and the recipient turned out to be an official holding a high position in the field of foreign economic activity of air transport.

The offenders intended to hide documents that confirmed the real value of the goods from customs officials. If the scheme had not been discovered, the Ukrainian state budget would have suffered huge losses.

An administrative case has been opened under Article No. 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine regarding violation of customs rules.

The total weight of the devices is 950 kg, and the quantity is 200 units. The batch of illegally imported goods was confiscated pending the completion of the trial.
