After searches that were carried out in Cherkassy, Kyiv and the Kyiv region, a large number of farms for illegal cryptocurrency mining were found. Moreover, they used electricity illegally.
More than 400 mining farms with equipment worth $4 million were discovered in the warehouses of the Kyiv company PJSC Kvazar. Namely: more than a thousand video cards and power supplies, 500 motherboards, almost one and a half thousand hard drives, system units, laptops. The paperwork is completed, the equipment will be inspected and sent for examination.
As noted by the chief military prosecutor of Ukraine Anatoly Matios, during the searches they found “meters”, according to which the attackers had not paid for electricity in the amount of 800 thousand UAH per month. If the farms had continued to operate, the budget would have suffered huge losses.
As for the investigation, it began last year. The investigation also identified the identity of the farm organizer. His whereabouts are being established, and attempts are being made to deliver the attacker to the pre-trial investigation authorities.
The prosecutor added that the investigation became aware of information about a group of people who contributed to the illegal import of dual-use goods into the territory of Ukraine.
As we reported earlier, yesterday on the territory of the Boryspil-Airport checkpoint Customs officers detaineda large batch of mining equipment, which they tried to smuggle across the border illegally. We think that these events are closely related.
