Google went the way of Facebook

Some ICO companies claim that Google began blocking their advertising on its platforms shortly after Facebook banned advertising for cryptocurrency or ICOs.

Although Google has not made any official announcements regarding changes to its cryptocurrency and ICO policies, companies have seen a significant decline in the effectiveness of their advertising campaigns on Google platforms.

Recently, an anonymous marketing firm specializing in ICO advertising provided Finance Magnates with performance reports showing that the company's ad viewability dropped by 99% in two days. The company also claims that the decline in performance is due to Google restricting its permissions for advertising campaigns.

Other parties involved claim that exposure to ICO-related ads resulted in the suspension of their Adword accounts in addition to the suspension of their respective campaigns.

Manitoba Securities Commission Senior Investigator and Chair of the Binary Options Task Force of Canada Jason Roy praised Facebook for its decision ban cryptocurrency advertising and said he asked Google to do the same.

“The task force and the FBI explained to Facebook that such advertising encourages people to become victims of deception. We have approached Google with the same arguments and hope that Google will change its policies and restrict advertising of binary options, ICOs and cryptocurrencies. People are so passionate that they can invest their money thoughtlessly,” said Mr. Roy.
