A resident of Tomsk became a victim of raiders and lost not only his property, but also his crypto assets worth almost 365 million rubles.
The 24-year-old man was met by two masked robbers with weapons when leaving the apartment. At gunpoint, the young man was forced to return to the apartment.
There the raiders forced him to transfer 85 bitcoins to their wallet, “nobly” leaving the owner 5 coins in the account. At the current exchange rate, the amount of stolen military vehicles is 364,159,540 rubles. After that, they tied the victim up with tape and kept him there for 8 hours, waiting for his accomplice to confirm the withdrawal of funds. When leaving, the robbers also grabbed the apartment owner’s laptop, smartphone and cash.
The victim managed to free himself from his bonds after the robber left and call the police.
Law enforcement officers quickly detained one of the suspects, who was able to return only 36 million rubles worth of Bitcoin. The location of the remaining cryptocurrency and the circumstances of the incident are being clarified by the investigation. It is not yet clear where the criminals got information about the cryptocurrency and the victim’s place of residence. However, how the owner himself was able to accumulate 90 bitcoins is also not clear. The young man is officially unemployed.
