Valve Corporation's decision to ban Web.3 technology on the most popular gaming platform has caused a stir among companies that launch blockchain games. But developers are not afraid of being left without work - they are actively lured to other sites.
No one can consider the logic in such a decision. Valve was the first to integrate blockchain games and accept payment in cryptocurrency for the services of its service. Now the company has suddenly killed the goose that lays the golden eggs.
A letter signed by 26 companies developing software for blockchain gaming was sent to the management of Valve Corporation. It states that banning their products from Steam is a short-sighted move. On the one hand, it gives undue benefits to operators of traditional games, and on the other hand, it kills a promising industry that brings good income to both Valve and the creators of NFT titles.
But the popular digital games store Epic Games Store has already announced that it will happily accept products from game developers that allow the exchange of digital tokens. The only restrictive condition is the obligation to label products according to age restrictions.
