Naples will launch its own cryptocurrency

The mayor of Naples wants to launch an autonomous municipal cryptocurrency as a counterweight to the “rotten euro” in order to free himself from Northern control over the southern cities of Italy.

The mayor of Naples, Luigi de Magistris, called on the cryptocurrency to fight discrimination. 

In his opinion, the time has come to decisively and radically strengthen the sovereignty of Naples, which is the capital of the world, as well as of Southern Italy. 

In his public statement on Facebook, the mayor challenges Minister Salvini and the entire government on the issue of autonomy, noting that the south is tired of injustice and oppression. The mayor's three-step plan to restore the political and fiscal independence of Naples, the capital of Italy's southern Campania region, includes the launch of its own cryptocurrency. The promise to launch a digital asset to protect the city from “anti-southern discrimination” and “unfair” debt, Luigi emphasized in his post.

Such a statement by the mayor is interpreted as a political desire to liberate the southern regions and support the self-determination of the south, the revolution against the “Roman kings.”

The mayor especially emphasized that Naples does not recognize its debt because of the “rotten” currency - the euro.  “We, in fact, are victims and should receive compensation, and not pay a debt to usurpers!” says Magistris.

According to him, Naples can become a fairly wealthy city thanks to tourism and the development of new blockchain technologies, and cryptocurrency will help with this.

Decentralized digital currency is a real godsend for such rebels seeking autonomous governance. As an alternative to a single currency, the cryptocurrency system allows for financial independence and revolutionaries are increasingly trying to use its potential in the political struggle. Venezuela and Iran have already tested the use of cryptocurrency to achieve political goals.
