Ukrainian bank will use Stellar to launch e-hryvnia

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine supported the project of a private stablecoin on the Stellar blockchain, developed by a local bank.

TASKOMBANK, the oldest commercial bank in Ukraine, is launching a pilot project for digital hryvnia on the Stellar blockchain. The project will be controlled by the National Bank of Ukraine and the Ministry of Digital Transformation. 


The Deputy Minister said that the pilot project will provide “a technological foundation for issuing electronic money” and “will be the next step towards innovation in the payment sector of Ukraine.”
