Ubisoft is launching an in-game NFT marketplace called Quartz.
The developer and publisher of popular franchises has announced a new gaming NFT marketplace.
The project is called Ubisoft Quartz and is based on the Tezos blockchain. The XTZ rate reacted to the announcement with a sharp jump of 36%.
The first NFTs will appear in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint for Windows PC on the Ubisoft Connect platform, and will be distributed to players for free. Later the company plans to sell them for cryptocurrency.
Collectibles will be able to be sold outside the Ubisoft ecosystem. A player can own only one item of a certain type, information about which will be saved in the blockchain, and the unique item number will be displayed directly in the game.
