Gwyneth Paltrow promotes Bitcoin

Yesterday, a very unusual post appeared on the actress’s Twitter page. She invited her 2.8 million followers to click on a link and read an article about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies posted on her company's website.

So Paltrow is now another celebrity supporting the benefits of a decentralized monetary system? We can't say for sure, although Paltrow does serve as an advisor to Abra, a project to create a wide range of services that make it easier to access cryptocurrencies.

One aspect of the Abra project is a smartphone app that allows users to create an account linked to a credit card, which in turn provides access, along with wallet management services, to 20 top cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple and Litecoin.

It is believed that The 46-year-old actress joined the Abra team earlier this year after seeing a presentation of the project while filming the show Planet of the Apps.
