Yuri Milner, who once founded Mail.Ru Group and DST Global funds, is going to start investing in Telegram ICO. Participating in this project privately, Milner plans to invest at least $20 million in the Telegram Open Network (TON) messenger.
Large venture funds, which are investing in IT not for the first time (Sequoia Capital and Kleiner Perkin, Caufield & Byers, Benchmark), shared their plans for future participation in the fate of ICO Telegram. Previously, they made investments in Google, Uber, Apple and Amazon. According to some experts, the growth in interest of funds is not caused by the desire to join the crypto investment business, but by the state of Telegram in the international financial market. The product has long shown itself to be promising and successful.
The current situation is an excellent chance for venture funds to experiment with cryptocurrency investments, with minimal risks. Because there are assumptions that $1.2 billion of additional investment will help the messenger significantly increase the number of its audience.
Also, the funds received are planned to be invested in the development of the Telegram Open Network blockchain platform, moreover, development and release of a payment system. The sale of tokens is planned for February and March, during the crowdsale, which will be held in 2 stages.
