SEC is investigating Uniswap

The Securities and Exchange Commission is investigating the company behind the world's largest decentralized exchange.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the Securities and Exchange Commission is conducting a civil investigation into Uniswap Labs. The SEC wants to learn more about the purposes for which Uniswap is used and how transparent the development team is.


DEX representatives said that they will “comply with all necessary laws governing the industry, as well as provide regulators with all the information they are interested in.”


This is the first time the SEC has taken action against DeFi platforms.
