The digital token XRP, which was created by the founders of Ripple, has been showing strong growth recently. After running from $0.25 to $0.75 last month, many experts began to talk about the token price reaching $1, one of them is Nigel Green, founder and CEO of financial consulting company deVere Group.
In making this prediction, Green says he is relying largely on the positive momentum the token currently has, as well as its usefulness in practice.
Market observers surveyed about this forecast gave mixed responses. Many analysts, such as Marouane Garzon, have indicated that they support Greene's optimistic outlook. “I definitely agree with his opinion,” said Garson, director of cryptocurrency platform Amulet. “If Ripple partners start using XRP for daily transactions, then I believe that by the end of the year the price could even exceed $1. Ripple promised that their partners will use XRP, and once people see that this is already happening, they will become more confident in this token, which will certainly be reflected in its price.”
Chris Kline, co-founder and chief operating officer of Bitcoin IRA shares their opinion. “I agree with Nigel Green - XRP price will reach $1 by the end of the year.” He believes the reason for this is “many factors,” including the launch of xRapid and Ripple for Good.
Mati Greenspan, an analyst at eToro, describes the token reaching $1 as “a real opportunity with a range of possible outcomes.” He said that given the “extreme volatility of XRP,” he would not be surprised if the token price reached that level.
And while the token price could reach $1 in 2018, “it will likely trade in the $0.80-$0.90 range, at least until the next major upgrade,” said Joe Di Pascal, CEO of cryptocurrency hedge fund BitBull Capital.
