The developer’s tweet attracted the attention of the Dogecoin community.

Dogecoin developer Michi Lumin said:

Dogecoin was created as a dog-themed “prank” coin. However, recent developments show that it can be used for more than just a meme coin.

On December 14, Elon Musk announced that the company would be experimenting with DOGE as payment for some of its products. Just a few minutes after the announcement, the meme coin returned to the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization.
