16-year-old girl came up with an app to track cryptocurrency prices

On January 28, an application by Hashita Arora from New Delhi for tracking cryptocurrency prices appeared in the App store

Arora presented the application project to the Bitcoin community on the Reddit forum in December. While she was admired by many, many claimed that Arora could not write the code for the app herself. In addition to false accusations, the girl was also criticized for her gender and age. However, thanks to the support of friends, Arora did not give up and completed the development of the application of her dreams.

Arora herself comments on the situation as follows: “Some people find it difficult to believe that teenagers are capable of anything. I have been interested in technology for a long time, I always loved doing interesting tasks in computer science, where we studied the concept of programming, developed funny programs and software. Last year I was accepted into a summer program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. When I returned, my Facebook was full of news about Bitcoin and other types of cryptocurrency, I became interested, and I downloaded various applications related to cryptocurrency.

All of them turned out to be inconvenient, unattractive, overloaded with advertising and it was difficult to keep track of the price.

It turned out that there are no applications that support several languages, so I added 20 languages to my application so that people in different countries could use it. friends from the summer program helped me with the translation. The application shows the current prices for cryptocurrency, you can also create a wish list, which will contain only the user’s chosen cryptocurrency, and you don’t have to scroll through the full list. People buy my application, and they like it. If there is nothing on the market that you want, do it yourself."
