The ex-president of Argentina called Ethereum one of the most valuable currencies in the world

Former Argentine President Mauricio Macri recognized the largest smart contract platform Ethereum as the best decentralized technology of the current century, and ETH as one of the most valuable digital assets.

Vitalik Buterin met with Macri during his vacation tour in Argentina. Impressed by the meeting, Macri noted that their conversation was exciting. Mauricio was once again convinced that ETH is the most valuable currency and its role is still underestimated.

Buterin himself was in Argentina unofficially, continuing his three-month vacation tour. No meetings were planned in Buenos Aires, but the visit to the country turned out to be eventful. Buterin flew to a party in honor of the web3 The Graph protocol, marking the first anniversary of the project’s launch.

Argentina has long been among the top ten countries with increased acceptance of crypto assets. Against the backdrop of rising inflation, Argentines are increasingly trusting cryptocurrency.

Ethereum, in turn, continues its confident movement towards the transition to PoS. The network successfully launched Arrow Glacier, an upgrade that delayed the activation of the difficulty bomb until the summer of 2022. The team plans to complete preparations for the transition by mid-summer next year, increasing the scale and security of the project.
