Spotify, Apple Music and music labels take about 75% of revenue from artists.
Saxo Bank analysts released a report, in which they said that popular music services like Spotify take the lion's share of musicians' profits. They say technologies like NFTs will help artists get a fair share of the proceeds.
They write:
The use of NFTs can be very beneficial for content creators in the music industry. Musicians now feel that the distribution models of platforms like Spotify and Apple Music are grossly unfair.
Analysts have predicted that Spotify shares could fall 33% in 2022. The price of SPOT already spent the year in decline, starting at $300 and ending around $200.
